Fire Tiger SPE - UV Pike fly
Fire Tiger SPE – one of the most iconic and recognizable color schemes of all time, brought from classic 1970s lures straight onto a modern streamer hook. The original pattern was created around 1975 by Floyd Mabry, a designer working with Bomber Lures. Designed for maximum visibility in murky water, first used on crankbaits, Fire Tiger quickly gained legendary status.
Bright chartreuse, an orange belly, a contrasting black back, and UV-active flash – it’s a formula that still works. Especially when other patterns disappear in milky water, under overcast skies, or at greater depths.
Fire Tiger SPE is the choice for those who don’t overthink – they just fish.

(13 cm casts comfortably with a #8 rod, 18 cm feels best with #9–10. Ultimately, it depends on your casting style and conditions.)

CONSTRUCTION: 80–90% Snow Runner (fluorescent chartreuse and orange), 10–20% Flash (UV-active)
EYES: Tab Eyes
UV ACTIVITY: Yes
HOOK: Traper SW40, Ahrex TP610 or Ahrex PR320
TECHNIQUE: Fly rod / spinning
TARGET SPECIES: Pike, zander and other predators – especially effective in murky water and low light
The fly casts light and accurate – easily handled even with a #8 rod, but performs best with a #9.
During false casts, it sheds water quickly and forms a sleek bullet shape.
In the water it swells, pulses, and flows – delivering a strong but natural signal.
It appears large but remains lightweight and easy to control.
You don’t need to animate it – but if you give it some action, it can surprise you with its unpredictable movement.
Also works great with a spinning rod.
Just add a Cheburashka and fish it the way you like best – on the drop, like a jerkbait, or in your own style.
