Huchen and Taimen Flies – streamers for Hucho hucho, taimen and big trout.

Snow Runner, Dubbing Brush and a natural action in current.

From the Alpine rivers of Austria and Germany to the San, Dunajec and Poprad – these are the places where, over the years, we have tested and refined our huchen streamers. Today they are well-tuned, effective patterns with proven colour combinations. Here you will find our original designs for huchen, taimen and the biggest trout – both articulated streamers 16–23 cm long and single-hook flies in the 15–18 cm range. Their size meets the requirements of the Special Sections on the San and Dunajec (minimum streamer length 15 cm). We tie them from our own materials – Snow Runner and ready-to-use Dubbing Brushes – which give them their characteristic, natural and stable action in current.

Here you’ll find articulated huchen streamers in the 15–25 cm range and single-hook huchen flies from 15–18 cm. Most of them come in muted, natural colours with just a minimal amount of flash – perfectly matched to the character of the water and wary fish.

We build our flies on our own Snow Runner (nayat), ready-to-use Dubbing Brushes and details that increase durability and stability in current. Their natural, realistic action has been shown both in an old short test video and in a better-known Montenegro film produced by the Wild Fish Stories duo.

Today our patterns live in the boxes of local guides from the Balkans, Austria and Poland. Anglers on the Dunajec, San and Poprad fish them – and they regularly come back for more. And the fact that the same flies work just as well for big, wild trout should not surprise anyone.

Weighted versions are also available – for fast currents, deep slots and winter conditions, when you need to punch through slush or keep the fly running steadily in the deeper part of the water.
