Nayat (Snow Runner)
– a natural material for streamers
Selected hair for large, lightweight pike flies and smaller streamers
Nayat, also known as Snow Runner, is a long natural hair and one of the most versatile materials for tying pike flies and large streamers. It can be used for slim patterns for asp, trout and zander, as well as large profiles for pike, huchen, taimen and saltwater species.
We select every piece for hair length, density and quality. The material is easy to portion and position on the hook. It does not mat or tangle, and it does not clump together like a wet sock after soaking. It remains springy, moves with very little input and lets you build large flies without overloading them with material.
Why does Nayat work so well in large streamers?
Nayat is durable and efficient—a small amount is enough to build a full streamer profile. It combines well with Pike Terror Flash, sheds water easily, retains a natural profile during the retrieve and quickly returns to position after every movement.
Long hair does not mean that Nayat is suitable only for the largest patterns. A single portion contains fibres of different lengths and character, so it can be used for both large pike fliesand much smaller streamers. Good examples are our Baby Streamers —slim patterns measuring 8–13 cm.
