Nayat Sage
Nayat Sage is a pale, muted green with a clear grey component, close to the colour of sage leaves. It is calmer than Sardine and more subdued than light olive shades. It is excellent for the bodies and backs of streamers imitating bleak, sandeels, small perch and other small prey fish, allowing you to build a pale profile without using white. Combined with pink-blue-silver Rainbow Trout flash and a darker olive back, Sage creates an excellent colour scheme for vendace and whitefish imitations. This is worth carrying wherever those species are an important food source for large pike. We have used this combination for years on large lakes in Poland and fisheries in Germany and Austria. Our vendace and whitefish patterns are chosen both by fly anglers and by spinning anglers who fish them with a Cheburashka weight.
Nayat, also known as Snow Runner, is a natural material for tying streamers and large predator flies.
Product features:
- hair length at least 15 cm, usually 17–20 cm
- natural, springy, suitably stiff and durable hair
- the right stiffness helps a large fly retain its profile
- allows you to build large silhouettes without using excessive material
- does not mat or tangle
- easy to portion and position on the hook
- combines well with flash and other materials
- each portion is hand-selected for density, length and hair quality
Skin pieces may vary in size; yield depends primarily on the density and length of the hair. We have selected Nayat for our own flies and for sale for many years, so every portion contains plenty of long, dense and fully usable material.
