Saltwater & Tropical Streamers
Large baitfish flies for the world’s most powerful predators
Saltwater & Tropical streamers are large baitfish flies designed for the most powerful predators in salt and fresh water. Here you will find patterns proven on tarpon, GT, roosterfish, tuna, golden dorado, peacock bass, arapaima and many other species, from ocean coastlines to tropical rivers and lakes.
Every fly is built on a strong saltwater hook designed for exceptionally powerful fish. Although many patterns are associated with particular species, most work equally well in salt and fresh water.
Some patterns from this collection are also available in much smaller sizes in the Baby Streamers category. They are designed for lighter tackle, smaller species and situations where a smaller baitfish imitation is required.
Refined on fisheries around the world
Our Saltwater & Tropical streamers have been developed over many years using the experience of respected fly anglers, guides and customers fishing around the world. The patterns have been used in salt water and in tropical rivers and lakes across South America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Feedback from successive trips has helped us refine the proportions, lengths, material distribution, movement and behaviour of each fly during the retrieve. As a result, the current patterns remain light for their size, maintain a clear profile and stay stable during both casting and fishing.
The construction is based on selected Nayat and our own Pike Terror Flash blends. We select the materials so that a large fly retains volume, movement and flash without absorbing excessive water or becoming unnecessarily heavy.
The collection includes natural baitfish patterns that resemble the prey of large predators, as well as strongly contrasting streamers for difficult conditions, coloured water and low light.
Depending on the model, you can choose the size, weighting and available extras, including a rattle or Wiggle Tail. Each option affects the fly’s movement, sink rate and the way it is retrieved.
Although the names of individual patterns are often associated with specific species, most have a much wider range of applications. The same streamer may work for tarpon, GT and tuna, as well as golden dorado, peacock bass, arapaima, payara or tigerfish.
