Unicorn — Iceland Special
Unicorn Iceland Special is a compact Baby Streamer for large trout, sea trout and other predators. It was developed with guides and anglers living in Iceland, initially for the large trout of Lake Þingvallavatn, but its usefulness soon proved much broader.
White and silver with a graphite back give the fly the look of a small baitfish. Its name comes from Pike Terror Unicorn M037 flash, which produces silver and multicoloured reflections as the viewing angle changes. The pattern is clearly visible without becoming excessive.
Order it unweighted or with 0.6 g weighting, with or without a small Wiggle Tail. The standard tail is silver; request another colour in the order notes.
Iceland started the story, but it does not limit where this pattern can be used. After two seasons of testing, Czarek, who inspired and tested the fly, summed it up simply: “These flies should be banned.”
