Jari BCK — Pike Fly
Jari BCK was inspired by a dark-brown fly tied by Finnish pike angler Jari Koski. With his permission, we developed a lighter version and our own Jari M023 flash blend combining gold, silver, pearl and copper. The tan-brown colour scheme creates a natural, subdued profile with subtle flash.

The fly is built on a hand-twisted Dubbing Brush using Nayat (Snow Runner) and Pike Terror Flash. The brush creates the profile, longer fibres provide length and movement, and the amount of flash depends on the particular pattern.
Despite its size, the construction remains light, casts well and moves freely in the water. At every retrieve speed it tracks steadily without rolling onto its side or spinning around its own axis. This applies both to fly fishing and to spinning, for example with a Cheburashka weight.
Sometimes pike respond better to a smaller fly. The 13 cm version may also be a better choice for anglers using a lower-line-weight outfit. The 18 cm version creates a larger and more clearly defined profile.
With pike, however, it is difficult to speak of a fly being too large. Fish measuring around 40 cm sometimes attack lures 30 cm long. The fly is soft and folds when a pike inhales it as prey, so a large profile in the water does not mean a hard, bulky lure in the fish's mouth.
The optional 0.6 g weighting is useful when the fly needs to reach greater depth more quickly or remain there during a faster retrieve.
