Red Head Fly Pike Fly Flagowiec

Red Head SRW - UV pike fly

Red Head SRW – a timeless classic. A must-have in any fly box, no matter your style, country, or era.
Red head, white body – a simple scheme that has worked for decades.

Legend has it the idea came about by accident – when pike ignored live bait but smashed into large red-and-white floats. That’s when someone had a lightbulb moment. The result? One of the most iconic color combos in fishing history.

In Poland, this pattern is nicknamed “the Flagship” – not only because it’s a cornerstone of many fly collections, but also because the red-and-white combo resembles the Polish flag. It’s a cultural inside joke… that also catches fish.

It works because it looks like something easy to grab and impossible to ignore. Sharp contrast, no nonsense – and maybe that’s why it just works, anywhere, for anyone.

This fly casts easily and accurately – lightweight and responsive.
In the water, it delivers a clear signal – the red-white contrast pops even in low light.
This isn’t a fly that pretends – it steps right into the predator’s view and says: “I’m here.”

For spinning? It’s a proven killer with a cheburashka – ideal for drop techniques and aggressive twitches.

You don’t have to believe in it. You just have to carry it.
