Olive Perch - Pike streamer
Olive Perch SPO – simply put… a perch. A classic that belongs in every fly box, because honestly – show me a body of water without perch. Exactly.
This pattern isn’t a loose interpretation – it’s a straight-up imitation: olive-green back, textbook vertical stripes, and an orange belly that predators don’t ignore.
It works because it looks familiar. It’s got everything it needs: natural tones, distinctive markings, and a bit of orange “meat” down low.
We added our custom flash blend – rich in hues but used sparingly, just enough to avoid turning the perch into a disco ball. It looks like a freshly panicked victim, not a lure trying too hard.

(13 cm casts well with a #8 rod, 18 cm works best with #9–10 – depending on your casting technique and conditions.)

BUILD: 70–80% Snow Runner (olive, dark green, orange), 20–30% Flash (gold, olive, subtle opal – delicate blend)
EYES: Tab Eyes
UV ACTIVITY: No
HOOK: Traper SW40, Ahrex TP610 or Ahrex PR320
TECHNIQUE: Fly rod / spinning
TARGET SPECIES: Pike and zander – wherever predators are familiar with the taste of perch
This fly casts confidently, handles wind well, and doesn’t get heavy when wet.
In the water it pulses naturally, flashes subtly – looking familiar, but not quite safe.
Performs in shallow water near reeds, but doesn’t fail when worked deeper over hard bottom.
For spinning – it pairs well with a cheburashka, slow drops, and light, irregular retrieves along structure.
A go-to streamer – with personality. Perch is always a solid choice.
