WATERPROOF EXTREME BACKPACK TRAPER
Extreme Pack waterproof backpack
This is not a backpack made with a quiet weekend at your aunt’s summer cottage in mind.
This model was created after a lot of testing – by my friends who took it to the tropics and on trips where everything is either already wet or about to be. I saw the test versions, the in-between tweaks and, finally, the finished product that I now use myself. And I can honestly say: this is properly dialled-in gear.Anyone who has come back with soaked clothes, sandwiches or documents because their “waterproof” backpack turned out to be more wishful thinking than reality knows exactly what I mean.
Here everything works the way it should. The outstanding waterproofness comes from the best zipper in the world – the same one used by manufacturers of professional diving equipment. The zip versions also have a special inflation valve – and it is not just for fun. With it you can turn the backpack into a buoyancy aid in a few seconds, which comes in handy when you are wading in surf on the rocky beaches of the Baltic, on tropical reefs, or crossing tricky sections of rivers where the current can suddenly pull even the strongest wader off balance.
And if anyone doubts the waterproofness – when I once inflated my Sling Pack just for fun and hung it on a hook, it was still holding pressure two weeks later. Now for the specifics:
The backpack is made from fully waterproof 840D fabric with double-sided TPU lamination. The main compartment is closed by rolling and clipping down the sides. Inside there is a pocket with two zippered sections.
On the outside you get a front pocket with a splash-resistant YKK zip and two elastic side pockets for a bottle, flask or thermos. Above them are adjustable bungee cords for carrying spare rods or a wading staff. On the top there is a clip for your landing net.The carrying system consists of a stiffened, moulded back panel with soft foam and comfortable, adjustable shoulder straps with a front buckle. The wide hip belt works brilliantly on longer walks, and when you do not need it you can easily remove it (it is attached with hook-and-loop) – a big plus on shorter trips or when travelling by plane.
On the hip belt and shoulder straps you will find locking clips, D-rings, loops, bungees and hook-and-loop tabs for attaching accessories. The D-rings at the bottom of the shoulder straps let you clip on our Hippack Extreme – together they form a truly versatile carry system.
