Brown Trout SBTH – articulated huchen streamer

Brown Trout SBTH Articulated is an articulated huchen streamer inspired by the colours of a brown trout – a classic that needs no introduction. The pattern is based on our Snow Runner in the Brown Trout Yellow colour, combining a slightly muted yellow, a brown back and a subtly lightened belly. The look is completed with characteristic red spots – a small detail that often makes a big difference.
This is one of the most frequently chosen flies in our range – together with the rainbow version, it is an absolute top seller. The articulated construction adds life and flexibility, so the fly moves even more naturally – both in current and on a gentle retrieve with pauses. Muted, natural colours work in a provoking way without being too loud – this pattern has repeatedly proven itself on big trout, huchen and taimen.
The natural profile and stable, smooth movement of the segments in current make the fly behave like real prey. Weighted versions are also available – for fast currents, deep slots and cold winter days, when you need to punch through slush or keep the streamer running deeper.

The fly casts light and accurately – no problem even with a 9-weight, while the larger sizes work best with a 10-weight rod.
During false casts it sheds water quickly and folds into a slim projectile.
In the water it flares and pulses, keeping a strong yet natural signal.
Visually it looks big, but it remains light and easy to cast.
You do not have to overwork it – but if you play more with the retrieve, it can surprise you with its unpredictable movement.
It also works with spinning gear. Our streamers are built for fly setups, but they perform excellently as spinning flies as well – especially when fished with a cheburashka.
It is a pike fly–style streamer that works straight away – no overthinking required.
