Rainbow Trout SRTH – huchen streamer

Rainbow Trout SRTH is a huchen fly inspired by the colours of rainbow trout – a species that has been present for years in many European rivers: from Austria and Germany, through Slovenia and Bosnia, all the way to the Dunajec, Poprad and San. It is on these rivers that this pattern has earned a reputation as one of the most versatile flies in its category. As a side note, in lakes with whitefish populations this colour scheme has long been regarded as a true killer for big pike.
Subtle transitions of grey, olive, pink and blue, with a light pearly sheen and delicate spotting, faithfully reflect the character of a rainbow trout. It is a simple but finely tuned streamer – where everything has its place: proportions, colour and balance.
The natural profile and stable action in current make the fly behave like real prey. Weighted versions are also available – for fast currents, deep slots and winter days when you need to punch through slush or keep the streamer in the deeper part of the water column.

The fly casts light and accurately – no problem even with an 8-weight, while the larger sizes work best with a 9–10-weight rod.
During false casts it sheds water quickly and folds into a slim projectile.
In the water it flares and pulses, keeping a strong yet natural signal.
Visually it looks big, but it remains light and easy to cast.
You do not have to overwork it – but if you play more with the retrieve, it can surprise you with its unpredictable movement.
It also works with spinning gear. Our streamers are built for fly setups, but they perform excellently as spinning flies as well – especially when fished with a cheburashka.
It is a pike fly–style streamer that works straight away – no overthinking required.
