Snow Runner (Nayat) is a natural hair whose characteristic stiffness makes it indispensable for tying large flies. It is significantly more springy than llama or Icelandic sheep hair – which means: no tangling, no matting, maximum control.
In the water, it performs exceptionally well. Even minimal movement gives the fly a pulsating, lifelike effect that clearly stands out compared to other materials. When properly layered on the hook, it allows you to build a large, visually full-bodied fly using less material.
Anyone who fishes for pike on the fly knows how difficult it is to combine volume with light weight. With Snow Runner, it’s possible. Flies tied with it are light, and nearly dry when pulled from the water – which translates into easier, more accurate casting.
This is a material that works not only in large streamers for pike, zander, and saltwater predators, but also in classic salmon flies and larger trout patterns. Probably the most versatile natural hair on the market.
